Why we started
Stigma keeps a lot of people from good information, products that suit them, and a community that gets it. We wanted a warm, well-lit room where asking is normal, browsing is relaxed and nobody blinks.
Community over transaction
Yes, it's a market. But the best part is the people: vendors who share tips, swap customers and cheer each other on, and guests who arrive curious and leave feeling welcome.
Who's behind it
Founded by the team behind Simple Pleasures NZ, a women's wellness business. We've spent years having frank, friendly conversations, and wanted to bring them into the open.

A note from our founder
I started the Curious Adult Market because I got tired of watching shame decide what people are allowed to be curious about. Pleasure, kink, a spicy book or a tattoo in an unexpected place: once something gets labelled "taboo," it becomes harder to find, harder to ask about and harder to enjoy without feeling judged.
I also run Simple Pleasures, a Kiwi intimacy and wellness brand. These makers deserve better than being hidden away, and so do their customers.
So I built the space I wanted to exist. It's friendly and welcoming, a place where you can browse, ask the questions you've always wondered about and meet the people behind the products. For our vendors, it's a community, not just a stall. By day I'm a finance manager, so yes, this market is run properly😉
